INTRODUCING: THE BURN BOOK
A Confessional for the Considerate Creator and Consumer of Culture
Every other week or so, we’ll reveal how we’ve found solace, chased ecstasy, and avoided bad apples in relevant industries and social settings. Cleansing ourselves of of sin and hopefully seducing successes to manifest that-much-quicker. All we ask is that you reply, comment, and/or repent. AND fill us in on any cult meetings or societal seances you attend. If you clack the keys- we’ll read it.
Oh Darling,
If you’re not careful, working on yourself TOO MUCH without pause can lead to a purgatory parallel to forgetting to move your clothes over from the washing machine to the dryer. The strange iteration of clean that you’re left with is, in fact, a lie— it reeks of mildew and begs to be washed once more. So you re-wash. And if you’re not mindful… again, you’ve forgotten. And now, you’re double fake-clean.
RESET THE CYCLE!
For a little over a year, playing with The K’s offline identity was all that I could handle: Anna Delvey’s Birthday Party Scandal, Playboy’s NYFW, The Flats, etc. At each of these events, the genie of lessons learned past would come to me: Life is best when music is tied to spectacle … POOF … Super8 is the sexiest way to capture cool … ZAM.
The immediate result was KLCTN.WORK -
a showcase of what we’ve been up to + the link you send to your millionaire friend to hire us to creative direct and produce their opulent birthday party.
We are no longer ruminating or having big picture convos. We’re checking off tasks. Because working on yourself must at some point become synonymous with working for yourself. You are what you do. So do it!
After working with external partners, it took this wandering mind a whole lot of time to figure out why, when and how showing up online again felt good. But then… AHHrrrrrgaaaahoooooaaa. There’s the voice. ~*Laser beams~*. Vision is back. And your taste, hunny? Never lost it.
But then again, there are many people out there who seem to have NEVER taken a stab at it- and mind you, complacency killed the cat.
I’m talking those zombies who work for Oracle[s] and rake in cash… or, or, or… talented artists who gate keep their own work… again. And again… Alas, if you fall into this pool, congrats— The K is a gateway drug for disregarding, reconsidering, and addressing societal and creative norms, baby.
And if this does not feel like a productive channel for you… kindly unsubscribe and go drink milk elsewhere.
